Seconde Nimenya is an international
award-winning author of Evolving Through Adversity, a story in
which she recounts her life journey and shares the life lessons she has learned
along the way to inspire and empower others. Her second book, A
Hand To Hold is an inspirational novel of love, healing and redemption.
And her third book, A Leader’s Companion Workbook To Evolving Through Adversity is
filled with insights for overcoming adversities in life. Seconde travels the
world sharing a message of tolerance and peace to bridge the gaps between our diverse
and multicultural communities. Her message is shared through various talks and lectures
in colleges and universities, in corporations’ diversity trainings, as well as
community groups and the media. Seconde is a firm believer that despite our social
identities such as race, gender, ethnicity, religion and sexual orientation, we
are far more alike than different. She advocates for diversity and inclusion in
the workplace and the education system, as well as raise key global issues such
the violence against women, child marriage and education for girls in the developing
world.
Her
TED Talk on Race and other identity constructs, titled, “We Are Not All That Different”
has been hailed as the most inspirational
TED Talk for our times. Seconde is particularly passionate about raising diversity
and inclusion consciousness, by creating partnerships and unique programs to coach
in diversity and inclusion and personal and professional leadership development.
