About the author
Noreen Grice holds a bachelor’s degree in astronomy from Boston University, a master’s degree in astronomy from San Diego State University, and professional certificates in museum studies (Tufts University), nonprofit management (Boston Center for Adult Education), and assistive technology applications (California State University, Northridge). She worked in the planetarium field for 26 years and found creative ways to make astronomy education more accessible to people with disabilities. Noreen is the author of several books, including Touch the Stars (National Braille Press); Touch the Universe: A NASA Braille Book of Astronomy and Touch the Sun: A NASA Braille Book (Joseph Henry Press); and The Little Moon Phase Book and Touch the Invisible Sky: A Multi-Wavelength Braille Book Featuring Tactile NASA Images (Ozone Publishing). Noreen is the recipient of many awards, including the Klumpke-Roberts Award (Astronomical Society of the Pacific) and the Jacob Bolotin Award (National Federation of the Blind). She is founder and president of You Can Do Astronomy LLC. Her mission is to make astronomy education accessible for everyone, regardless of (dis)ability, and she never accepts that something is impossible!
