Escape the Dimension

The first day at a new school is always a little scary. Will the teachers be mean? Will the other kids be friendly? Will there be bullies? Will the cafeteria serve nothing but meatloaf? Ten-year-old Randy asked these same questions, but now he has a list of new ones. Will holographic security children patrol the halls? Are you likely to meet an evil copy of yourself? Do you have to dodge spiked walls and bottomless pits? And, most importantly, if you're sent to the principal's office are you cast into an eerie alternate reality known only as the Dimension? Yeah, the first day of school is always a little scary. Sometimes it feels like you won't survive until the end-of-day bell rings. Randy's not sure he will.

Randy's just an ordinary kid being raised by his single mom, his father having died long ago. At least, that's what Randy's mom always told him, and he's had no reason to disbelieve her. When Randy's accepted into a prestigious school for the gifted, he finds evidence his dad may not be dead. He doesn't have much time to investigate though, because he's too busy trying to survive his weird new school. How weird? Usually schools have names. This one doesn't. It does, however, have a security system made up of holographic children, deadly spiked walls, and a principal who condemns students to a grim alternate reality called the Dimension. Randy, his new friend Jason, and school bully Brian must band together if they're to overcome the principal, his trap-filled school, and the horrors of the Dimension. Randy might learn more about his long-lost father, but first he's going to have to Escape the Dimension.

Eleven-year-old Pranav A. Puttaparthi lives in San Diego, California, with his parents and sister. He plans to write science fiction in the future. At present he's happy reading, playing video games, and running his own YouTube channel. Pranav especially enjoys video games which transcend ordinary expectations of reality. It was this type of game that inspired the surreal school in Escape the Dimension.
