So much to love about "Eight Fairy Nights!" I love how Eight Fairy Nights adds an enchanting cadre of female heroines to the traditional Hanukkah story. The illustrations depict fairies who are uniquely whimsical and refreshingly body-positive. Those healthy-little-girl fairy bellies are THE BEST! (Maybe Bub wants to consider a line of body-positive fairy dolls?) In addition, Bub anoints each night of Hanukkah with a different value we hope to nurture, connecting the values back to the Maccabees.
