About the author

The Rev. Dr. Lauren Speeth is an educational and Christian media expert with a lifetime of high-tech experience, from the Silicon Valley startup to Fortune 50 levels, from nonprofits to orchestra halls to houses of worship. Her technical background coupled with her religious calling, training and experience have led her naturally to blaze a trail in the world of eMinistry.

Speeth earned her Doctorate in Ministry (Distinction) in Transformational Leadership for the Global City from Bakke Graduate University in Seattle, where she was a Raymond J. Bakke scholar. She holds a Lifetime California College Teaching Credential, a BA in Psychology from Mills College in Oakland, an MBA from Saint Mary’s College in Moraga, a Doctor of Business Administration from Golden Gate University in San Francisco, and an Advanced Computer Security Credential from Stanford, where she also studied philanthropy and chaplaincy. The rigorous interfaith chaplaincy training that she received at Stanford Hospital and Clinics, one of the nation’s top ten hospitals, continues to inform her work.

An award-winning producer/director, Speeth has placed her success in film at the service of youth, serving on panels as a multimedia expert and judging of thousands of student films and other online content. She has lectured all over the world, including Australia, India, Asia, Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Her award-winning apps, podcasts, eBooks, eCourses and other multi-lingual content continues to attract viewers all over the world, and she continues to offer fresh tools to equip ministers, social entrepreneurs, and aspiring change agents young and old.

Speeth, a performing and recording musician, plays electric bass and keys at her local church and is a former member of The Peninsula Symphony (First Violins). Dr. Speeth volunteers as an External Advisor to the Stanford Center on Poverty and Inequality, where she served as a web architect and developer.
