Overview
Dreams of Persia is a compilation of almost 100 common Persian sayings and proverbs. All sayings are written in Farsi and English with a phonetic guide for those who are not fluent in Farsi. Each saying has an English explanation and when appropriate, the English equivalent is given. Each saying is displayed on its own page, with a beautiful and unique background of Islamic/Persian art. Dreams of Persia aims to present the reader with a small sample of the poetic and figurative language and culture of Persia, but is not a comprehensive collection of sayings. It is of particular appeal to those interested in Persia or in learning, understanding, or remembering colloquial Farsi sayings. Due to its artistic layout, it would also be an excellent gift. The book is appropriate for adults as well as older children and adolescents.
