About the author
Makeitha Hughes Abdulbarr, LCPC, is a licensed clinical psychotherapist, spiritual life-coach, motivational speaker, and philanthropist. She is the founder and Clinical Director of Metropolitan Mental Health Clinic, one the most influential mental health clinics in the Washington, D.C area. She produced and co-hosted, “2 The Couch”, a radio show designed to bring therapy and hope to those who suffer in silence.
Ms. Hughes Abdulbarr has lived in Utrecht, Netherlands, Rome, New York, and Merced, California. She has traveled widely through the United States, Europe, and the Caribbean. Along the way, she had adapted to a variety of cultures and languages. She progressed through the Maryland educational system and has an undergraduate degree from Morgan State University and a graduate degree from Bowie Sate University.
