Vasile Onica was born in Romania, and at only six month old he was given an injection which left him unable to use his left leg fully. However, he never let that stand in the way of fulfilling his dreams. In 1997 he came to UK for an operation, and settled here after the operation was unsuccessful. He graduated from the University of Brighton with an HND in Business and Marketing, and went on to work in the financial sector. He is an avid sportsman, loves travelling and the outdoors. He swam 2000 metres uninterrupted, climbed two mountains, and became the first Eastern European, on crutches, to have climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro successfully. He was awarded 2nd place in a table-tennis competition, plays football, goes to the gym and swims on a regular basis. His dream is to inspire and motivate people to follow their dreams, and to never give up. He lives and works in Brighton, East Sussex.
