I’ve lived on the east coast, on the west coast, in the high desert of Mojave, in the southwest desert of Arizona, a couple of years in Germany, and the last few decades in Texas. Although only twenty, I was already working on my “bucket list.” I wanted to try everything. Some of these are/were: a scientist (so many areas to choose from), an accountant (ugh. Try that for six months, then moved on.), an astronaut, having children and being a good mother (wanted 6 but God gave me 1), a computer programmer (called coder now. Was fun but followed the itch to try something else), and software developer, a racecar driver (I did do a 1/4 mile race and if the rear hadn’t dropped, I would have won), a mountain climber (dang, while in Germany I discovered vertigo and heights were not compatible with mountain climbing - crossed that off the list, too), and more. Whenever I heard of something interesting to do or learn, it was added to the list. This list was created purely for the love of learning, and there was an entire world of things to explore.
However, it only took a couple of years to realize that the list would not include everything. I realized many things did not belong on my To Do list. Even so, I would need many lifetimes to scratch off a small percentage of the (still) growing list.
I spent several years teaching computer applications and network computing. I finished my working career as tech support in the IT department before and after Caterpillar bought the Texas heavy equipment company where I worked.
No, I’ve not done everything on my bucket list - yet. However, telling stories is nothing new, but I have never published them. Since writing and publishing my stories were on the list, now is the time to achieve that goal.
Maybe, in the next three lifetimes, I’ll add space explorer, spacecraft Captain, entrepreneur, owner, CEO, and COO of Z-Stworf, a planet the size of Earth’s Moon, a few lightyears outside the Milky Way Galaxy and the entrepot between the Milky Way Galaxy and beyond.
