About the author
Before becoming the author of the best-selling short story collection "Every Number Is Lucky To Someone," Sean Leary began his professional arts career at age 11, writing articles and drawing cartoons for the national newspaper The Comics Buyers Guide. Throughout his teens he continued to write and illustrate for various newspapers and magazines, and played in a handful of punk and new wave bands, collaborating with such future luminaries as Erik Larsen (``Savage Dragon''). During that time, he also had six gallery showings of his artworks and paintings, recorded three solo albums of instrumental music and was involved in a handful of theatrical productions in various capacities. He also continued writing, completing the award-winning graphic novel "Exorcising Ghosts" and acting as publisher of the humor and fiction anthology 'Faced, which won an SDX Award from the Society of Professional Journalists. With My Verona Productions (the company he founded with Tristan Tapscott in 2004) Sean has produced 16 live stage shows and almost two dozen short films in conjunction with those shows. My Verona's cinematic collaborators on those productions, Bluebox Limited, were finalists in Project Greenlight, won the MTV Young Filmmakers Award and have gone on to a productive career in Hollywood. During the last decade, Sean was the founder and CEO of three online magazines -- The Dingo, a humor anthology featuring stand-up comics and humor writers from across North America, The Eye, a fiction and features magazine and Get Your Good News, which spotlighted positive features and news -- all good news, all the time. He's currently working on unveiling a fourth dot.com magazine project. Sean has been published and been involved in the publishing of almost three dozen books, including nine solo works: Sean Leary's Greatest Hits Volumes One and Two (collections of pop culture columns), Exorcising Ghosts (graphic novel), Your Favorite Band and Dingo Boogaloo (screenplays), Every Number Is Lucky To Someone (collection of short stories), My Life As A Freak Magnet (humorous memoir about weirdos met), Here Comes The Goot! (children's book co-authored with his two-year-old son, Jack, for beginning readers) and, his latest, the short story collection, Does The Shed Skin Know It Was Once A Snake? His tenth book, a collection of poetry, Beautiful Remnants Of Chaotic Failures, will be released 2. 2. 2012. He's currently working on his first novel, a "top secret project" for a major publisher, which will be completed in summer 2012. His website is www.seanleary.com.
