About the author
Originally from Buffalo NY, John attended college in Milwaukee at UWM. While there he played in the Milwaukee folk group The Highlanders and earned a degree in English Literature. In the '70's he did promotion for RCA, Elektra, Columbia and UA and opened the east side Milwaukee record store Ludwig Van Ear. He also co-wrote/produced "The Blues Are Out To Get Me" with Milwaukee's Jim Spencer. Over the years John worked with several Gospel artists writing and producing CD's and recording on his own. He penned songs for bluegrass hall of fame member Carl Story, Don Mchan and Denise Shipler. John has 3 cds of his own. These days he reports, "I am comfortably ensconced in Florida and writing (among other things) a childrens series entitled Dobie The Dodo. Dobie is a single parent youngster who lives on a fictitious island. He's of a group of birds that no longer exist having eaten themselves into exinction. They have the instinct to fly but can no longer achieve lift off."
