Overview

The poetry collection in Displacement, from J.E. Mori, is like an academy in words. Using simple, understandable language, and an everyman melancholic writing style, he’s able to capture ordinary life – its pleasure, its discontents, and its moments of sadness and of joy.

Description

In this collection of poetry, J.E. Mori touches on an array of subjects – love, marriage, solitude, spirituality, virtue, and other phenomena, such as: time, peace, disability, affect of entertainment, and the art of question. Displacement comes at the reader in terms of relative position, a progressive take on life; however, the direction isn’t clearly defined. Drawing inspiration from the world around him, Mori examines how often it’s likely that our paths will not be superlative, or the most efficient for getting to our final position. From such poetic forebears as Langston Hughes, Robert Frost, and twentieth century poet Pablo Neruda, Joshua’s expression captures the essence of life’s journey

About the author

J.E. Mori, at 29 years of age, has 8 years of professional experience in consultative services. He has B.A. in Political Science and Economics, as well as M.B.A. in Strategic Management. Literature, philosophy and writing have always been passions of his, as well as a means for external expression. He’s all about practicality, but has the fortitude and wherewith to view life “outside the box.” Displacement is his first work of poetry, but he projects a long-lasting vocation in writing and publishing. Mori has earnest conviction in the messages conveyed in his writing. He’s certainly a leader amongst his peers, and his Christian spiritual walk has always been absolute. In addition, much of his literary prowess stems from studying complex theory, as a means to overcome challenges brought on by a learning disability. While he has faced hardship in this area, he's remained resilient and has not let it deter his success. Mori strongly proposes that by learning oneself, everything else important will subsequently fall into place.
