Disconnected Discourse

Overview
“Poetry is an archaic animal yet one that concisely captures the psychic separation we endure as our rapidly expanding, technological century builds digital walls between individuals. Gareth Budge’s poetry collection, Disconnected Discourse, explores the spaces between, the static that separates us one from another. Budge’s words reveal a darkness, an ephemeral shadow of what could be, what lingers just out of reach. Disconnected Discourse is a dystopian journey of misunderstanding in our modern age of distraction and unease, yet in the end there is a longing, a sweetness, an innocence behind Budge’s cynical insouciance. . .” – A. Robinson

About the author

Gareth Budge is a poet. Rather than write under the aegis of poets of yore, Budge immersed himself in life, steeped himself in the richness of human emotion, and from experience his lines began to grow, his thoughts finding order and sense in rhyming couplets. Gareth Budge worked his poetry in secret over many years, honing and refining it while traversing the globe, from Australia to Indonesia to America.  Disconnected Discourse is his first literary offering, a compilation and compendium of experience and sensation.   Disconnected Discourse explores the spaces between, the static that separates us one from another.  Budge’s words reveal a darnkess, an ephemeral shadow of what could be, what lingers just out of reach. It is a personal catalog of human emotion and intention, and his lines glow with a vivid intensity.
