About the author
Dr. Nedra L. Johnson was born in Dallas, Texas. She attended schools in the Dallas Independent School District. She has been in the education field for over 25 years. In 2017, she was named DISD Secondary Teacher of the Year. Nedra is a mother of two and resides in Mesquite, Texas. She has been writing poetry since middle school and has publications in Teen and Essence magazines. She also worked with Time Magazine in 2018. She aspires to use her voice/words as motivation and inspiration for humanity.
