Defining Moments tells the story of Paul and Shirley Risk, their early years growing up in Lancaster County Pennsylvania, their courtship, family life and building a highly successful company. Their story highlights what they have accomplished, not by themselves, but how the Lord led them through many challenges filled with happiness, disappointment, frustrations and successes. As they started their Design/Build - Construction Management Company in 1968, their immediate family and their construction family played a big part in their success story. Paul and Shirley's memories also focuses on clients who challenged them and later became mentors and lifelong friends. It reinforces their core belief that the Lord gave them the courage to recognize their defining moments and draw on their God given talents to nurture their family, build a company and create a legacy.

Paul D. Risk was born and raised in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Growing up in a construction family, Paul worked for his father, Donald Risk for 15 years before he and wife Shirley started their own company. Paul Risk Associates, Inc. began with 5 employees in 1968 and reached 75 employees by 1990. Still thriving, Paul Risk Construction is led by third generation, Steven P. Risk, Chairman and fourth generation, DJ Risk, President. They continue to honor Paul and Shirley's legacy by building relationships based on trust. Paul and Shirley's dedication to the Lord is an integral part of their daily lives.
