D.L.Mars (Debra Mars) is committed to helping all women secure a fulfilling and productive life through authentic living and self actualization. She is equally concerned about their physical health, safety, emotional stability and financial security. As a former corporate marketing executive (General Mills, Coca-Cola, Frito-Lay) and current CEO of Gifted by dezyn; she is committed to utilizing her professional marketing skills and expansive resources to identify the spiritual gifts and advancement of others. She is the founder of Women in the Game; a mentoring organization that seeks to entrepreneurially put the power back in the purse for women who have fallen victim to: divorce, domestic violence, job displacement and/or catastrophic illness.
A single parent for 14 years, D.L. Mars is no stranger to adversity and life altering events. Based on hundreds of interviews, her newly released book Death of a Fairy Tale was an eight year passion project that promises to be a megaphone and coach for all women who like her seek to triumph over a doomed marriage. She concludes that all pain and suffering needs to have an expiration date. The “Dare To Reign” movement which birthed from Death of a Fairy Tale is intended for the masses—D.L. believes you have the power within to overcome any obstacle you encounter.
She has been featured in numerous public interest stories and various media outlets and has received professional and philanthropic accolades throughout the years. D.L.Mars has a servant’s heart who frequently reaches out to the homeless and survivors of domestic violence. Some of her current civic affiliations include: Take the Silence out of Violence- City of Dallas Task Force, The Chairman’s Task Force of the Texas State Fair, The LINKS Incorporated, Alpha Kappa Sorority Inc. She was previously a member of: The National Sickle Cell Board of Directors, The Greater Dallas Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, The Dallas Convention and Visitor’s Bureau Board of Directors and Jack and Jill of America Inc.
A native of Los Angeles California, she is an honors graduate of both the University of Southern California (BS) and the University of Wisconsin (MBA). She resides in Dallas, Texas and is the grateful mother of two adult children.
