About The Author

Haemish Oester is a retired information technology geek who traded his computer keyboard for, well, I guess he still writes with a computer keyboard. A left-brain thinker attempting to create in a right-brain space; his only English class in high school resulted in a "D" while his English Composition course in undergrad earned him a "C." Instead of relying upon the voluminous MLA Handbook as a style guide, he resorted to using Weird Al's Word Crimes music video—it was much more concise. This could explain why one of his favorite quotes about the English language came from the character "Stewie" in television program, Family Guy: "You don't so much speak the language as chew on it and spit it out." Haemish tends to swallow life experiences whole and then regurgitate them with a peculiar, twisted vengeance. Thankfully, his master's program had no formal writing requirement or he would probably still have to work for a living. Writing poetry and song lyrics has been his favorite form of psychological therapy for several decades (much cheaper than going to a psychiatrist) but then he expanded into short stories that magically grew longer and longer, as if they had a life of their own. Haemish finally decided to publish a novel before AI renders the entire industry obsolete. We shall see . . . He was born and raised in small-town Ohio but fortunately spent his adult life in the warm, sunny South where his passion for cycling can be quenched year-round.
