Cissy Gayle was born and raised in a small town in Texas. After completing her undergraduate degree, she moved to a larger city for graduate school. Cissy holds a Master of Science with an emphasis in Special Education. Family is extremely important to Cissy - they are the light of her life. Most days, Cissy can be found spending time at home with her family and pets and dawdling around the farm. Her first children's book, Dawdling Denise, Denise Likes to Dawdle, is based on her own childhood adventures.
