Description

Dangerous Dialers provides a birds-eye view of the billion-dollar phone fraud business and its' evolution. Drawing on interviews with informants, cyber police, former convicted scammers and millions of undercover audio recordings, fraud experts Doug Shadel and Aaron Foss expose the scammer's techniques and offer a set of tools for anyone wishing to arm themselves against these attacks. Inside you will find: • Current examples of how Al and other technologies are used to disguise callers and deceive victims into thinking they are talking to legitimate businesses or government agencies. • Undercover recordings of investigators posing as victims to expose scammers' psychological tricks. • Analysis of over five million scam recordings that reveal the three major tactics scammers employ to steal money. • Surprising new social science research that illustrates the factors that make consumers susceptible to losing money to phone scammers. • The "Impostor Hall of Shame" is a collection of 150 of the most common (and dangerous) scam recordings taken from Nomorobo's "Honeypot" a dragnet of 350,000 phone lines used to monitor the marketplace. Join the ranks of thousands of fraud fighters nationwide who are not just avoiding losing money to scammers but are also watching for and reporting them to the authorities.
