About The Author

Photographer Barbara J. Distler has been documenting the street for several decades. Based in New York City, Distler is a no-filter, no-AI photographer who has been featured in solo and group exhibitions and commissioned for commercial properties. She is the recipient of two individual artist grants from the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and the American Turkish Society. In addition, she has taught photography, interned at the International Center of Photography, and travels abroad to create photo essays of local street culture.
