Chef Robert Lewis, The Happy Diabetic, who was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 1998. Since receiving many requests to share his tips and recipes for nutritious, easy-to-prepare dishes that taste great, Lewis has published three cookbooks –Cook Fresh, Live Happy, Get Happy, Get Healthy and Simply Desserts – and he speaks to audiences at hospitals and health fairs across the country, delivering a message of hope and encouragement. After graduating from the Prestigios Culinary Institute of America in 1976. In 1998 he was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Thus began his motivation to create great tasting dishes that are easy to prepare. Chef Robert is a nationally recognized author, public speaker and spokesperson for all people affected with diabetes. He travels the country speaking on the benefits of healthy eating not only for people affected with diabetes, but also for anyone who would like to eat and live a healthy lifestyle.
