About the author
Early stage new ventures, growth companies in emerging markets, and real estate opportunities keep Brian Sear busy and energized. He is a member of the Sierra Angels and is President of VenRaD LLC a venture research and development consultancy in Washoe Valley, Nevada a small town just outside Reno.
Before starting VenRaD LLC in 1985, Sear had a successful career in high technology. He was recruited in London, England to join the Univac research team working on its firs semiconductor computer. This began a productive period developing and patenting new technology and publishing the results. During the 1960s and 1970s, Sear published many articles in prestigious journals and went on speaking tours to promote novel ideas about computers and instrumentation.
Sear still meets with clients, advising CEOs, directors, and investors on steps they should take to grow business despite the tough economy. No matter what the industry, he applies the fundamental principles of natural competition to superior strategy development. Working with the Board, CEO, and management team Sear prepares a strategic framework that represents the thinking and judgment of top management about the future of the company. This due diligence provides both parties with a path to proceed if the venture is promising.
Sear has plenty of experience in that regard. Between 1969 and the present, he has started up several multimillion dollar companies that achieved good results. He has been the leader in companies both private and public. In recent years, his focus shifted to becoming an author and developing an Internet Enterprise.
“While spending time in china back in 2007, I discovered a nation with strategic clarity and intent to grow its people out of poverty by making China’s growth of domestic product its highest priority. I admired what they were doing,” says Sear. “I came home to America, the greatest democracy the world has ever known because of its citizens and Constitution and realized our Washington DC leaders, mired in political correctness, are failing our citizens, and do not deserve to lead this capable country of ours. If not redirected, they will diminish this great nation.”
Sear is now on a mission to help get America back on the road to prosperity and wealth. He says we need to “Enact a new Citizen’s Contract with America” that eliminates career politicians and replaces them with citizen politicians, public servants whose highest ideal is to serve the people.
