HudsonWay Immersion School focuses on four pillars of student development: academic excellence, second language proficiency, cultural competence, and social-emotional development. Compass is a trilingual journal that provides a glimpse of not just English, Mandarin, and Spanish fluency and literacy in elementary school children, but also meaningful development of character. In this anthology of student work, "What Does Community Mean to Me? A Collection of Feelings & Opinions," students from Kindergarten to Grade 5 present their own original art and ideas in both English and their target language.
