The time is the 1960s. The setting is the Philippines. The main character is Carter Redding who is a Peace Corps Volunteer. Fortunately, but quite by accident, he prevents an assassination of Robert Kennedy. The plotters are sure Carter is more than just a Peace Corps Volunteer. They are furious and attempt to discover who Carter is working for. Those attempts involve Carter in a series of adventures involving beautiful women, nefarious characters, unexpected violence, and interactions with spirits. The story moves to various areas in the Philippines and leads to a final confrontation in the jungles of the island of Palawan.

About The Author


Jim Dries, like the character in this novel, was a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Philippines in the 1960's. Jim has returned to the Philippines a few times since. The early part of Jim's life was spent in education teaching at all levels. Since retiring, he has acted, directed, and appeared in TV commercials.
