This is a children's book about Baxter, the lost dog. Baxter is lost and alone in Arizona and wants to go home where he belongs. Baxter strikes a friendship with Cloudy (a mythical talking cloud) who appears in the sky to guide him and help him find the courage and perseverance to keep traveling in search of his home. Throughout the story, Cloudy and Baxter work in cooperation as Cloudy teaches Baxter how to navigate the terrain and survive in the Arizona desert and it's treacherous landscapes. Through Cloudy's teachings, Baxter learns about how to avoid typical Arizona animals that threaten his quest to find his way home. Cloudy demonstrates loyalty to Baxter while protecting and leading him through obstacles they encounter along the way. Will Baxter find his way home?

About the author
Luis Alvarez was born in Ajo, Arizona. He studied education at Northern Arizona University and has been teaching in Arizona for over 30 years. Cloudy Over Arizona is his first children's book. He currently lives in Show Low, Arizona with his wife, Sabrina and their two dogs.
