There is both structure and creativity throughout the book, and the reader begins by scheduling 30 minutes of quiet time every morning for meditation and reflection. This is also the perfect time to review plans for the day, to notice any fear thoughts that may come up, to reflect on the daily inspirational quote, and to  jot down any thoughts and ideas that come to mind.  Throughout the year CHOICES FROM THE HEART gently takes readers down the path to discover their purpose and experience the joy of sharing their gifts with others.

CHOICES FROM THE HEART is a self-help book that is fun, easy to follow, and brings about tangible results. It is a 365-day guided journal to be started any day of the year. It is a celebration of life and is for women who are looking for meaningful change. According to Marketdata Enterprises in their 2017 report entitled: The US Market for Self-Improvement Products & Services, the $9.9 billion market is expected to reach $13.2 billion in 2022; but the younger consumers "want practical results and a return on their invested time and money." "Traditionally, the Baby Boomers have been the main consumers of self-improvement. They still are an important group, but the tide is shifting. Millennials are the future for this market, but there are few experts now catering to them." The structure and creativity of this journal set it apart from other self-help books. There are 12 chapters, and each has a theme, an exercise, and a page for setting goals for that month, as well as a daily planning page, called Taking Small Steps Today. Before starting Chapter 1, the reader is introduced to a section she will return to often during the year. It is for drawing, mind-mapping, creating, and visualizing the kinds of changes they would like to experience. It begins with these subjects: Gratitude is for me..., and My Favorite Affirmations; continues with the goal-setting categories used throughout the journal: Spiritual, Friends & Family, Health & Fitness, Personal Goals, Career, Financial, and Fun, and ends with space for a Vision Board. Each morning starts with meditation, and readers choose the type they would prefer. About The Author


I am passionate about helping women discover their unique purpose and share it with the world. So many of us are searching for a more meaningful life, and it's not easy in our fast-paced culture to slow down and reflect on what makes us happy. When I was young, I embraced the teachings of Thoreau, Gandhi, Martin Luther King, and the early suffragists, and I have continued on this joyous path ever since. I have a master's degree in education/sociology from the University of Washington and ten years' teaching experience where my focus was on reading, creativity, and instilling feelings of self-worth in my students. I also spent 25 years in the hospitality industry, taking care of guests and hearing their stories. I have been A Course in Miracles student for many years and am also a cancer-survivor. While going through radiation treatment, I increased my meditation time and read over 200 books on healing. I started applying all that I had learned about the power of our thoughts and beliefs to overcome fear, and this led me to incorporating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy into my daily practice. Choices from the Heart, A Journal for Bringing Joy into Your Life is the culmination of these experiences, and I am very excited to share it with others so we can make this world a better place.

Wonderful Journal! With the new challenges of being a homeschool teacher due to distance learning, as well as being a full-time nurse, this journal allows me to prioritize my daily tasks. The pages are big enough to allow for me to write my daily and lifelong goals without running out of room. I love that the quotes selected by the author are empowering and motivational; they give me that extra boost I need to get through my day.
