About the author
Warren G. Charlton is an award winning poet, aspiring screenwriter, and accomplished urban novelist. Warren's first writing credit came as a result of being a member of the rap group 'Royal Riders' (based out of Pensacola Florida) where he penned lyrics for the group's 'Visualize' CD, as well as for his solo project 'KKKonspiracy' released under the moniker Goldie the MVP. [see http://www.ugrap.de/interviews/interview-goldie-the-mvp/] This penchant for writing lyrics inspired Warren to push his pen further into the realm of novelizing. Warren's debut novel "Tears" was released with an accompanying music soundtrack with the same title. Other songs written by Warren can be found on Reverbnation (Warren Charlton). In February 2012 Warren was indicted in the Northern District of Florida for a non-violent drug case and sentenced to 30 years in federal prison. [see petition to free Warren Charlton @ change.org] Since his incarceration, Warren has formed a writer's group called 'Write From Wrong' that focuses on networking with and encouraging other prisoners to harness their potential in the areas of writing novels and screen plays. Warren's style of writing is risque' yet redemptive, often painting portraits of street hustlers living lifestyles that lead to the penitentiary or cemetery before experiencing epiphanies that are only realized by hitting rock bottom and then looking up in search of something greater than themselves. Warren is the vice-president of a Toastmasters Gavel Club named 'Aiming for Success' and enjoys participating in public speaking events, but his favorite past time is reading and studying The Bible, particularly the concealed revelations of the Old Testament scriptures. This passion for Biblical studies and his love for music motivated Warren to write his first hip-hop musical titled 'From the Prison to the Palace' based on the story of Joseph in the book of Genesis. The musical was performed for the first time in April 2017. Warren is currently incarcerated at a federal prison in Yazoo City, Mississippi, where he continues to write novels, screenplays, and poetry [see facebook/warrencharlton], while looking forward to being released to pursue his passion as an aspiring movie director and being a father to his beautiful daughters. Warren's latest urban novel is titled 'Casanova Crew'.
