Overview
An action packed drama of menace, love, devotion and rage. The retirement of Simon and Paige Brodie turns out to be different from all others. What starts out as an adventure, nearly turns to tragedy. When confronted by a third-world crime rate ripping across New York City, veteran outspoken police detective Simon Brodie feels compelled to take whatever measures he deems necessary to keep career criminals off the streets. Simon believes the cause of crime is simple: we have massive crime because too many criminals are running free. There is a revolving door of crime because DAs won't prosecute career criminals; due to narcotics and open borders; illegal sanctuaries; demonization and hamstringing the police; easy bail; and soft-on-crime liberal judges…period. Brodie's detective career abruptly ends when he is suddenly called to a meeting in his boss's office. The cancel culture has caught up with him and he is given a choice: Either retire, or undergo a painful investigation by Internal Affairs on trumped up department violations. He decides to retire, and within a matter of weeks, his wife's job is also eliminated due to down-sizing. Free to do whatever they want, Simon and his wife Paige decide to make the ultimate life-changing decision: Sell their luxury condo in Manhattan, buy a large camper and retire traveling across the U.S. They make their way to a remote time-share resort community called Solace, located in the mountains of West Virginia. It comes to a climax when Paige and two other women are kidnapped. Simon will need all of his extraordinary survival and detective skills, and the assistance of a Solace Resort ally, to root out the kidnappers and their hidden location deep within the mountains of the Monongahela National Forest.
Description
An action packed drama of menace, love, devotion and rage. The retirement of Simon and Paige Brodie turns out to be different from all others. What starts out as an adventure, nearly turns to tragedy. When confronted by a third-world crime rate ripping across New York City, veteran outspoken police detective Simon Brodie feels compelled to take whatever measures he deems necessary to keep career criminals off the streets. In his eyes, crime is out of control and due to a perfect storm of factors: social anxiety because of a pandemic, de-policing in major cities after protests that called for defunding and abolition of police departments, and a justice system that has become too lenient on violent offenders, including those with behavioral health issues. All at the expense of public safety. Simon believes the cause of crime is simple: we have massive crime because too many criminals are running free. Progressives like it that way because crime is the engine of their political power. He believes their ideology is that the law-abiding are bad if they are not big government Marxists, and criminals are the real victims. Worse, there is a revolving door of crime because DAs won't prosecute career criminals; due to narcotics and open borders; illegal sanctuaries; demonization and hamstringing the police; easy bail; and soft-on-crime liberal judges. His outspoken philosophy is never going to take the criminals off the streets and the streets will never be safe until all the progressives are fired. Brodie's detective career abruptly ends when he is suddenly called to a meeting in his boss's office and ostracized. Little does he know the cancel culture has caught up with him and he is given a choice: Either retire, or undergo a painful investigation by Internal Affairs on trumped up department violations. He is being canceled for his political comments and because his opinions are seen as offensive and politically incorrect. He decides to retire, and within a matter of weeks, his wife's job is also eliminated due to down-sizing. Free to do whatever they want, Simon and his wife decide to make the ultimate life-changing decision: Sell their luxury condo in Manhattan, buy a large camper and retire traveling across the U.S. It doesn't take the Brodies long to realize they are soon in over their heads – playing the most dangerous retirement game of all. Their sudden retirement has brought a slew of problems with it, including a collapse of the electrical grid beyond their control, assault, drug violence – culminating in kidnapping and attempted murder. They make their way to a remote time-share resort community called Solace, located in the mountains of West Virginia. The majestic landscape is suddenly besieged by the chilling truth: The area surrounding the resort is replete with ruthless and murdering drug dealers, all determined to keep their secrets from coming out. It comes to a climax when Paige and two other women are kidnapped. Simon will need all of his extraordinary survival and detective skills, and the assistance of a Solace Resort ally, to root out the kidnappers and their hidden location deep within the mountains of the Monongahela National Forest.
