About The Author

Te'Keye' Lara is an intellectual and creative spirit who can usually be found chasing her twin boys. She's held several different titles in her career but being a mom is the most important job she holds. Now, she can add one more title, author. Writing a book was always on her bucket list but creating a children's book became increasingly important as she became a parent. City-hopping all over the US with her wife brought its own challenges as a military spouse, but having kids further highlighted the challenges of being different in a world, which generally sides with sameness. It has been her mission to teach her kids to be good humans, to be their authentic selves, to love everyone, and embrace differences as strength and beauty. She wants all kids to be confident self-thinkers and become the best version of themselves. Butterfly Skies is not only her love letter to her own tribe but to all children learning to walk in their truth and celebrate others for doing the same. To learn more, visit:
