About the author
Charlotte A. Lee is a Senior Vice President with Lee Hecht Harrison (LHH), the largest outplacement firm in the world with over 350 offices in 85 countries. She coaches senior executives from all industries but focuses on financial services, legal, pharma and consumer. Prior to her role at LHH, Ms. Lee led the New York office of DBM, the first outplacement firm which had more than 400,000 clients each year. Before her work with DBM, Ms. Lee was an investment banker with Kidder, Peabody & Co, Alex Brown & Sons, and Credit Lyonnais, where she worked on debt and equity private placements, leveraged buyouts, and cross-border M&As. After investment banking, Ms. Lee formed her own firm to provide strategic planning, organizational development, sales and marketing, and career coaching to senior executives and nonprofits.
She has served as the Executive Director for five nonprofits and recently led Habitat for Humanity in Nassau County as its President. She also serves on the Board of Directors of TruFund Financial and is active with the National Kidney Foundation, after donating her kidney to her sister in 2009. Charlotte was a panelist for Fordham Law School, discussing social media and one’s career, and is a frequent speaker. She has presented to GE, Deloitte, ING, State Street, PwC, Book Guilds, ASCEND, FW, Fordham Law School, Baruch College, FWA, among others. Charlotte is also active with the American Association of University Women and founded the Munsey Park Women’s Investment Club. Ms. Lee is a certified literacy tutor and has taught conversational English to Chinese-Americans for many years. Ms. Lee has appeared on CNBC, Bloomberg Radio, and NPR, and has been interviewed by the Wall Street Journal and The New York Times. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from New York University and lives in Manhasset, New York with her family.
