Guarded and kept secret by a group known as the Guardians, the Book of Ages contains the entire history of the world, from the beginning to the present. The book can be used to alter history when written in by a predestined Scribe. What Kassie doesn’t know is that the book has prophesied her to be the new Scribe, as well as Quinn’s soul-mate.
Understanding her importance to both the book as well as to him, Quinn struggles with telling her the truth about who he is and just what he helps to protect. He knows that she still grieves for the loss of her father and would like nothing more than to go back and change what happened to him, something he cannot allow her to do. He knows, and understands, the effect changing one event could have on the future.
