Overview
A troubled young chemist running from his past finds something worth fighting for. Pursued by those who don’t understand, manipulated by those who know too much, he finds himself the pivotal piece between two worlds destined to collide. Struggle as he may, the ones he tries to protect end up tangled in his web of lies and secrecy as he walks the fine line between hero and harbinger of death for his enemies lurking in the shadows.
Description
Chris Rockford is a modder, spending his days working on research and applying it to human blood samples in order to boost the physical attributes of an individual through the creation of hyper advanced drugs called "mods". Under the watchful protection and direction of the M.A.G.I., he stays within the limits of a social code meant to separate himself from the world not yet ready for his findings or influence. As he ventures out into the world to attend another round of self prescribed rehabilitation clinics and seminars, he meets Serena and Isaac, a brother and sister looking to deal with Isaac's prescription drug addiction before it manifests further. But before Chris makes the hard decision to break ties, he finds himself involving Serena and Isaac in his world of secrecy and science, making them the unwilling leverage to twist his decisions and force his path in the direction decided by the MAGI.
About the author
Stephen Tontz is the ninth of ten children. He grew up in a family with a passion for film and later took that passion with him to acquire a Bachelor's Degree in Motion Picture Film Production from Brooks Institute of Film and Photography in Santa Barbara where he focused on writing screenplays. During a summer break he began to write this novel for an hour a day for one month straight, later having it professionally edited and making the decision to self publish. An extremely introverted individual, Stephen writes for the sheer joy of creating a science fiction universe from scratch and basing it as closely as possible to reality, including all the consequences of any action, whether it be social, physical, or psychological.
