Bogg Island Blues

Who do you love and how far would you go to get them out of a jam? Questions facing GenX detective Frank Rotten as he feels the heat from old flame Maggie Malloy. Maggie calls Frank to an island off New England for help in ending a loveless marriage while she scams her husband out his inheritance. Yet Maggie isn't the only schemer on the scene once her father-in-law takes a dubious header from the bluffs. An Indigenous medicine man, a counterfeit conservationist, a clueless real estate agent, and a conniving crook from Maggie's past all converge and stake their claims. Frank only wants a piece of Maggie's heart but frets about being played for a sap. A second death puts Frank on the spot, and he's forced to make a choice. Bogg Island Blues is the second in the Frank Rotten series and examines the interplay of love and greed, and fallout from the pursuit of desire. Pulp fiction with a dash of existential boulder roll. Once again, the action unfolds in the mid-nineties as Frank stumbles through a noirish world and struggles to make some sense.
