Overview

Beneath this awesome book cover lies a stunning debut by talented author, Zachary Black. In `Body Bags and Shallow Graves', full-time stoners and social dropouts Tom and Flaco - South London's answer to Cheech and Chong - find themselves way out of their depth in a hilarious and intelligent plot that twists and turns sharper than any British gangster film. Rizlas, roaches and raves; boozers, beer and body bags; dodgy dealings and drugs - lots of drugs - this book is for anyone who's ever known a guy, who knows a guy, but wished they hadn't ... and it's exceptional!

Chris Thrall - Author of `Eating Smoke: One Man's Descent into Drug Psychosis in Hong Kong's Triad Heartland'- a memoir

Description

Tom is a recreational drug user. He knows a guy, who knows a guy, who knows a guy, who knows a guy… and he comes to wish he didn’t. In an attempt to ease his financial dilemma Tom bites off more than he can chew when he decides to impersonate a dealer whose murder he accidentally witnesses. But Tom is soon to realise he’s not as street savvy as he’d like to believe when a series of blunders, incited by lifelong friend Flaco, a stone-head sure to test the patience of a saint, see the debt quickly mount and a progressively more terrifying succession of heavies come knocking. Unwittingly Tom is plunged head-first into a world of dealers, deals and death enacted by a mysterious assassin who stalks his every move. Will he make it as a dealer? Will he find his way out? Or will he wind up where most of his London underworld bosses are turning up: in a body bag in a shallow grave?

About the author

I'm an, aspiring writer / screenwriter / filmmaker. My debut, Body Bags and Shallow Graves, first evolved as a screenplay. An unexpected phone call from actor Jamie Foreman, who had kindly taken the time to read the first draft, motivated me into developing the story further.

It is my ambition to one day shoot BB&SG as a low budget indie film. Writing the novel and self publishing nudges me one step closer to financing and achieving my goal.
