Rodney Sugden
It was early April, a couple of weeks before Rods 67 birthday when he noticed he was having difficulty finding words to finish a conversation. Laying in the recovery room, the surgeon said Rod you had a couple of mini-strokes.
When he was able to drive, he went out and bought a laptop, and started to write, trying to retain and keep from losing anymore of his cognitive abilities.
It was an interesting challenge, as it felt like his left brain, and his right brain was communicating, finding new path ways to each side. At first, the sensation was unnerving: he would get up holding his head, walking around hoping it was a positive sign.
Rod feels grateful: he says it's not perfect: his cognitive side seems to have stabilized, during his self-imposed therapy, he has written two books and a short story.
