Meet Parker, Morgan, Kennedy, Cam, Quentin (aka "Q") and Shawn. These are the members of BLUE. Getting accepted to college was a major milestone for each of them, though neither expected that it would come with obstacles that would challenge every moral and value ever instilled in them since childhood. Meet the rose that refused to wither… Originally from Gary, Indiana, Avis Foley, figuratively known as Bella Black, is a true literary artist at heart. As a current educator on both the secondary and collegiate level, Avis recognizes the value of education and wholeheartedly supports educational advancement in the classroom and beyond. She feels that it is the civic duty of African Americans to continue to blaze the trail that was paved by their ancestors to build empires and create legacies for generations to come. The obstacles that Avis has faced in life have enabled her to inspire others on their journeys. Through her writing, she wants young people to examine their current state of mind to foster wiser decisions for a more rewarding life and ultimately - an indelible impact.
