Bizzo's Holiday Secret   Bizzo's Holiday Secret is the magical story of a dog matriarch, Bizzo, and her two young companions, Bindi and Crikey.  This e-book features several colorful illustrations to introduce the reader to the real-life dogs on which this fictional story is based. In winter, during the time of the white fluff, legend tells of a supernatural two-legger, Aunt Elfie, who leaves toys and treats for animals everywhere on one special night.  With Aunt Elfie's guidance, Bizzo begins a fantastical journey of discovery, leading to an incredible holiday secret she can share. Five-month-old pup, Crikey is excited about the coming of winter, a season he's never experienced.  Bizzo tells him how fluffy white flakes will fall from the sky, and four-year-old Bindi warns him about the sticky tree goo that can get in his fur.  But Crikey and Bindi are spellbound when Bizzo recounts her chance meeting with the magical two-legger who will bring them toys and treats.     Who is this magical two-legger and does she have super powers?  In Chapter Two, we begin to answer these questions by going back in time to meet Marie.  A tiny woman with a big heart for animals and a love of baking, Marie shares a little cottage with her animal friends.  Her day starts like all the others.   But as a series of events unfolds, Marie discovers that things are . . . anything but normal.   With lots of strange things happening at Marie's house, she calms her nerves by making her favorite cookies -- pecoons.  To Marie's amazement, a very famous visitor interrupts her baking and proposes a seemingly impossible mission for which he has chosen her to carry out.  While it sounds wonderful, Marie is sure it's beyond her abilities.  Or is it?   We fast-forward back to the future where we left Bizzo, Bindi and Crikey anticipating a day of fun in the white fluff.  Their excitement is palpable.  The morning begins with joyful hot cocoa, picture taking, racing around the yard in the snow, Crikey's first encounter with ice, and then . . . something unforeseen happens that will change everything.     In the final chapter, the magical two-legger persuades Bizzo to join her.  Now, in her enchanting and wondrous surroundings, Bizzo discovers how to use her new super powers to affirm beliefs she has always held.  Practice kindness.  Bring joy to others.  Reach out with love.  These are the best gifts anyone can give -- or get.

About The Author

Diane Wasnak is an actor, physical comedienne, former circus performer, dog trainer and author. Coming from a long line of writers, Diane's mother, Lynn Wasnak wrote for a wide range of publications and created the newsletter, Many Voices Press. Diane's grandmother, Iverne Golloway-Koehler composed hundreds of children's stories under various pen names published between 1935 and 1975. At the age of eight years old, Diane won honorable mention in the national writing competition for children, sponsored by New York publisher, Henry Z. Walck, Inc. Animals have always inspired Diane and been a major part of her life. In 2001, Diane teamed up with a canine performing partner — an amazing Australian Shepherd named Bonzer. Diane and Bonzer developed a fast paced seven minute act they performed world wide. Five years later, Diane and Bonzer made their Broadway debut in "Busker Alley", directed by Tony Walton and starred Glenn Close and Jim Dale. Tony called Diane and Bonzer his "find" of the show. Returning to their circus roots, Diane and Bonzer were a featured act in St. Louis' Circus Flora. Cate Marquis of The Current wrote: "A silent lively little Chaplinesque figure, is bedeviled by a mischievous Australian Shepherd named Bonzer with hilarious results. Both their comic timing and tight coordination in intricate, lightning-fast stunts were humor delights." In Australian slang, Bonzer means "terrific". Bonzer Productions began as Diane's creative collaboration with singer/songwriter and partner, Barb Polk. The threesome produced live shows, music videos and created edutainment videos designed for children. Their work with the Palo Alto Humane Society earned them a Telly Award for the video, It's A Dog's Day. All I Need is a Typewriter and a Squeaky Ball, Poems By Crikey, is Diane's observations of her Australian Shepherd puppy. In Bizzo's Holiday Secret, Diane took inspiration from Crikey and his two canine companions, Bizzo and Bindi, to create a fantasy holiday story that speaks to the circle of life.
