This Book "Birth of a State Trooper" is an autobiography that showcases the growth of a young lad, and his adjustments to life and society. Every chapter of this book depicts a series of events that show the necessity for certain defense mechanisms required to protect oneself that are vital in every aspect of the person's life. This adaptation of a child's life shows how he matures into adulthood, becomes interested in law enforcement at an early age that encourages him to pursue his dream of becoming a lawman later in life. This book also shows how a series of life changing attitudes can shape his persona which follows him throughout his lifetime, and it's with this attitude that he's able to make decisions in his life that he believes are necessary and acceptable for survival.
Author Bruce Hayden is writing this book "Birth of a State Trooper" to show how in chronological order how a person continually uses backup plans to survive life's surprises. It also depicts how anything can happen, good or bad, during life's journey-showing the need to be prepared for any unpredictable occasion, whatever that may be, allowing he or she to persevere ahead with accomplishing their goal or dream whatever that may be. I'm (Bruce) writing this book "Birth of a State Trooper" for anyone 13 years old or older that needs a boost in establishing more self-esteem and confidence.
About the author
Author Bruce Hayden is a retired State Trooper who holds an A.A./B.A. degree in the areas of Criminal Justice and Criminology. He has also received approximately 12 graduate study credits in the same study area. Over the course of 35 years, he has also received several certificates for training before becoming a State Trooper and afterwards. in addition, Bruce was certified and trained by University Professors in Entomology and computer science, enabling him to work in area hospitals, the State Treasury Department of Maryland, and other similar venues before becoming interested in Law Enforcement. Moreover, during Bruce's 25+ years as a State Trooper he has had the opportunity to acquire multiple certificates in Emergency Care, Accident Reconstruction, Intoximeter Training, First Line Supervision Schooling and Field Training. As a field training Trooper Bruce has had the occasion to train over 20 Troopers newly assigned to a Barrack after graduating from the Academy. This training entails approximately eight more weeks of field training for the boot Trooper prior to him/her going on patrol alone. Furthermore, Bruce has been nominated several times for Trooper of the Year and has received many certificates for criminal investigator and D.W.I. producer of the month. In addition, Bruce was also a member of many committees that pertained to Accident Reconstruction. Author Bruce Hayden has always been an active person physically, exercising rigorously several times a week. He first started exercising with weights at the age of 13 and has continued with this activity to this day. He has also had the opportunity to compete in many powerlifting competitions all over the Eastern Seaboard of the U.S.A., receiving as many as 65 awards. These awards consisted of plaques, ribbons, medals, and sculptured trophies. All of these competitions were sanctioned, requiring the lifter to adhere to strict rules and guidelines. Furthermore, Bruce became interested in mixed martial arts training at the age of 16 and has continued with this training and activity for over 30 years. This mixed martial arts training was instrumental in giving Bruce the confidence he needed to do the job of hands-on Law Enforcement effectively. It was also effective in maintaining a healthy mind and body, allowing him to manage the stress and pressures of life in general.
