The four short stories, Commitment, Static, Noona's Nights and Assumption, written over a period of about five years, comprise a novel, events in the life story of Billy Starr, shaman, berdache and artist. Other characters in the fictional small town of Linden, Minnesota, provide the setting for Billy's experiences and form a sort of canvas on which the artist creates parts of a story that is told in other novels, Timber King, Clothes of Heaven, and Ben Winter, Writer which will be published and available on Amazon. com in the near future.
About the author
Marlon Davidson is a visual artist with a history of writing in the area of memoir (The Pig Barn) and in fiction, (Hester's Gift and The Pig Barn) the latter two on Amazon.com. He has visual art in collections across the United States and in Europe. Davidson studied at Bemidji State College and the Minneapolis School of Art (now MCAC) and for some years was involved in art education but for the last ten years has been devoting full time to visual arts and writing. He lives in Bemidji Minnesota with his partner the sculptor, Don Knudson.
