Beneath the Dune

"Beneath the Dune” , a novel by Walter Ramsay, follows life-long Floridian and newspaper sports journalist Tucker Lee Anderson as he seeks to find a murderer and is forced to face surprising truths along the way. Tucker is a laid-back Southerner and divorced dad, whose days of excitement seem to be mostly behind him until he is assigned to cover the story of a child’s skeleton discovered buried in the sand. As Tucker attempts to follow the twisting trails of evidence to discover the murder, he finds himself confronting his own past, discovering truths about his own lineage and the upper crust of his coastal community that make certain parties uncomfortable. Tucker will need to keep his wits about him as he draws nearer to a surprising conclusion.

Set in the Central Florida community of Brevard County, Beneath the Dune features an interesting cast of characters, and what Anderson uncovers is bound to shock a few upper class residents to the core. Steeped in suspense and blended with humor, the book has all the ingredients necessary for the making of mystery that is sure to hold you in its grip to the very end.

After years of teaching others to read and write as a high school language arts teacher, Walter Ramsay was inspired to do a bit of writing himself and produced this novel. Intended to engage and entertain, the book was written for fans of light murder mysteries. Walter holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s in education. He has worked as a high school language arts teacher and athletic coach for more than 25 years and enjoys working and learning with young people. Ramsay currently resides in Ocean County, N.J. and spends his free time at his house in Brevard County, Fla. Married with four children and two grandchildren, he enjoys the outdoors, following sports and learning about history.
