Beloved Hatred

When a white Chicago cop kills a black Chicago Bulls star—in a racially motivated shooting—all hell breaks loose. The victim's girlfriend goes on to become a national spokesperson for African Americans rights. She advocates for a black exodus to Africa...until she becomes romantically linked with the white supremacist shooter! As Marvin Gaye once said, "What's going on?"

Although Samantha Newton naturally possesses a civilized tolerance for all races, the cruel mystery surrounding the white-cops-killing-black-men syndrome that took away her innocent black boyfriend rouses her demons. Albeit hesitantly, she decides to kill the runaway cop; she must find him before the police do, lest he live. The perpetrator shockingly appeals to Samantha's better angels eventually, a turn of events that shocks not just the black community. Still, it is unexpected that Samantha will sell herself to the "enemy" for literally nothing by eventually falling in love with him. This twist of love surprisingly energizes an African American exodus from American soil, for which Sammy needs to be a "Moses" of the time. After stumbling into police secrets related to her boyfriend's death that she had no right to, she must now figure out and mastermind this impossible mass exodus back to Africa.

Marvin Mukanaka was born and raised in Zambia. A former hotelier and flight attendant, although a powerful athlete, he grew up in theater arts, eventually making cameo appearances as a doctor in Kabanana, Zambia's first soap opera, and another similar role in Twice Dead. In between all that, he wrote and co-produced 'I Need a Cure,' a theme song for a short film, Home Sour Home. He wrote and produced this film, playing the lead role, to address domestic/women abuse. After years of hard work towards his goals as a social justice-driven artist, at one point contributing articles to the Zambia Daily Mail, he believes Beloved Hatred is his arrival on the global stage.
