KARIMA ANDREA
This book is a roadmap home to self and a true gift to humanity After many years of being a client of Karima’s, it is a great joy to witness the birth and delivery of Karima’s book. Being a lover of adventure in the wilds of nature, I have learned and experienced that the greatest adventures of all are the ones of our inner worlds. The adventure of discovering, naming and accepting all our parts – even the scary, seemingly ugly ones – with curiosity and open-hearted love and compassion. With the process of discovery and acceptance comes the great gift of transformation. Our tightly closed, tense, shamed, boarded-up and fiercely protected shadow parts transform into conscious gifts of joy, beauty and liberation. This transformation results in a full-body, mind and heartfelt realisation of wholeness. As Rumi says, 'this being human is a guesthouse'. The very practical steps that Karima teaches in Becoming Whole allow us to safely invite and even welcome all the feelings and emotions we experience into the guesthouse of our human experience. Once practised and therefore understood in an embodied way, you have the recipe for continued practice which gradually builds courage, confidence, and even more curiosity to adventure into, explore and process bigger and deeper held emotions. In the modern western world, we have been conditioned that it’s ok to feel certain ways but not ok to feel (or express) other feelings. As a result, we hold on to and store these emotions in our body (a field called neurophysiology) leading to emotional numbness, disconnection, depression, anxiety and physical disease. This book helps you to understand and practise feeling and healthily expressing ALL your emotions, transforming them all into a state of wellbeing. If only we were taught this in primary school! I highly recommend this book to anyone who feels a longing to feel more connected, a sense of belonging and more nourishing ways of relating (to self and others). This book is a roadmap home to self and a true gift to humanity. Helen Padarin, Nutritionist, Naturopath, Herbalist, Author, Speaker Read more
