Becoming Kevin: From Warrior to Peacemaker by Kevin J. Osterman is an autobiography that takes readers through the most important moments in the author’s life. His story documents the transition from being a rebel kid to a responsible man who takes his education seriously and eventually becomes a leader and a respectable advocate for peace and reconciliation. The author writes about his troubled youth, from the divorce of his Marine Corps parents to acts of delinquency to his service in the Marines, and from his failed marriage to personal transformation that crystallizes in his mission and purpose.

Kevin J. Osterman’s book is an inspirational story on leadership, intelligently written, and filled with insights. The author is a great storyteller who knows how to communicate lessons from his personal life to readers. The writing is fluid and the author has the gift of pulling the reader in through the use of philosophical and insightful thoughts. I loved the clarity with which the author writes about scenes from his life and the honesty with which he describes events. One of the refreshing things about Becoming Kevin: From Warrior to Peacemaker is how the author combines entertaining with self-help, teaching readers through the art of storytelling. By sharing his story, the author opens paths through which readers can walk deeper into themselves and start the journey towards change. The book explores strong themes, including hard work, parenting, change, and personal development. The author doesn’t just open a door to his soul but helps readers see the possibility for growth by looking at the events of their lives from a positive angle. It is very inspirational.
