About the author
Vince Papale was born in Glenolden, Pennsylvania and graduated from Interboro High School and St. Joseph’s University. In 1976, at the age of 30 with no college football experience, he tried out for the Philadelphia Eagles and shockingly, made the team and was later named special teams captain. Since his retirement in 1979, he has overcome cancer, excelled as a fitness trainer and mortgage professional, and is now a sought-after motivational speaker. In 2006, the Walt Disney Company released a feature film about his football career, Invincible, which was #1 for two consecutive weeks at the box office. Janet Cantwell-Papale is a former world-class gymnast who has survived a childhood brush with death and a career-ending injury to come out a winner. She was a star athlete on the USA World Gymnastics team but a devastating knee injury at the peak of her career forced her to reinvent herself. Janet went on to teach gymnastics all over the world and started the Women’s Gymnastics program at the University of Pennsylvania becoming the youngest Head Coach in Division One athletics. For nearly three decades she has been a successful businesswomen, entrepreneur, and mentor. Both she and Vince are in the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame. Vince and Janet now live in Cherry Hill, NJ with their two children, Gabriella and Vincent, Jr.
