"The Great Ocean's Ultimate Fairy Tale!"

45 years ago, the Great Ocean’s sharks were terrorized by the cruel Captain Shino, a man bent on a path of revenge and desire. His mission? To destroy all sharks and find the elusive Shark Pearl! Now, after his release from exile, he’s at it again…and this time, there’s no one to stop him. Except, perhaps, a 12 year-old shark named Tomo. When his village is destroyed by Shino, Tomo is reluctantly thrown into a series of perilous adventures to save his friends and family. Then, in a chance encounter with an old Battle Shark, Tomo finally realizes how he can truly help. By learning the ancient art of landfighting, Tomo returns to challenge Captain Shino…on his own turf!

"Battle Shark Tomo" is an all-ages book. Trust me, once you start reading it, you'll be hooked!

I wrote Battle Shark Tomo for several reasons. First, sharks are cool. But combining sharks and martial arts is ultra-cool! Also, I've always had an unhealthy fear of sharks (thanks to watching the movie, "Jaws", when I was 8). The research I did for the book helped, as well as writing the story from the sharks' point of view.

Since it was e-published, Battle Shark Tomo has been enjoyed by readers 10 years old and up. Some people have made it their first e-book purchase. I'm honoured! Thank you!

To all my family (Nancy, Emma, Neve, Carl, Anna, Jason, Marisa, Julia, Annie, Rie,Tom, Brady, Squiggles, Matt, Rachel, Michel, Ann, Alyssa, Sebastien, Sandra, Alexandre, and Jacob), thank you so much for your support! Michael Kaduck, thanks for being the first reader! Thanks also to Eve, my first editor.

About the author

Peter DeNicolais is a teacher with the Ottawa Catholic School Board in Ottawa, Canada. He teaches Grade 7 and 8 ESL...and he loves working with all of his students and colleagues (and that means YOU!). He was also an elementary school classroom teacher - and much of his inspiration comes from the creative kids he worked with.

To every student out there: thank you for being who you are. No matter how old you might be, it's true that school can get tough. In every good story, there is always a point where the hero wants to give up. And in every good story, the hero finds a reason to keep going. You have to battle through the tough stuff. Get up, dust yourself off and swim on. Like a true Battle Shark. One day, you might rule the Great Ocean!

Peter has a wonderful wife, Nancy, and two fantastic kids, Emma and Neve. In his spare time, he collects cool ideas and writes them down. He wants everyone to enjoy reading "Battle Shark Tomo" as much as he loved writing it.

Special note! As you may know, all of the proceeds of the e-book go to the Kidney Foundation of Canada. My nephew, Sebastien, recently just came out of the operating room with a new kidney (May 1, 2014)! What a true Battle Shark! I am very proud of my family and Michel (Sebastien's father - who is now 1 pound lighter thanks to the donation)! "Thank you" to the Kidney Foundation - your support helped save my nephew's life!
