Book 2 of the Banna and Bree series…

Banna and Bree, brave wildlife warriors, are blown to the coastal town of Mission Beach, Australia.

When a cyclone forms near Mission Beach and the Great Barrier Reef, the rainforest and marine animals are threatened by gale force winds and flooding rains. Banna and Bree risk their own lives to save their friend Tilly, a turtle caught and struggling to survive in discarded fishing nets on the reef.

It becomes a race against time, not only to save Tilly the turtle, but for Banna and Bree to survive as they battle the deadly seas.

‘Banna and Bree Blown to Mission Beach’ is set in the beautiful Clump Mountain National Park in the coastal community of Mission Beach, Australia, where the rainforest meets the reef.

Banna and Bree are baboons that are transported by the mystical wind goddess to Mission Beach from Botswana in Africa.  They meet some uniquely Australian animals such as koala, kangaroos, a wombat and cassowaries from the rainforest and the dolphins, turtles, dugongs and stingrays of The Great Barrier Reef.  When a cyclone threatens the area, the animals unite to protect each other on land and in the ocean.

Friendships blossom with the rainforest and marine animals that are heart-warming and we learn that working together can sometimes be the difference between life and death.  Banna and Bree work with the rainforest animals to save a family of kangaroos and with the creatures of the ocean to save a turtle caught in nets during the storm.

Banna and Bree witness first-hand the hardship of the animals and the devastating effects cyclones can have on the oceans creatures.

‘Banna and Bree Blown to Mission Beach’, focusses on environmental issues, conservation, preservation of endangered animals and the human impact on animal habitats at a level that young children can relate to.

Banna and Bree are conservation and wildlife warriors for young readers who care about endangered animals and protecting our planet.

Does Bree survive under the water when her world goes black? Which animals are injured in the storm? Does Tilly the turtle escape the nets trapping her underwater?
