About the author
BIOGRAPHY Patsy Kennedy Lain was born In Eastern North Carolina In 1951 to a farmer's/painter's son and a female sharecropper's daughter. Her mother was the lightning bolt and the goodness behind her hardworking father. Both her parents were born and raised In Duplin County and grew up hard like so many others during the "great depression". Together they worked steady and hard to become productive, sharing their small fortunes with many. As neither of her parents finished school, a lack of education did not deter them from becoming successful in owning and operating several small businesses throughout their lives. Their accomplishments and good characters impressed her throughout life. Patsy dedicates her writing and other creative abilities to her mother's unknown desire to write. Her mother chronicled many things unknown to the family in odd places—on small pieces of paper, inside the front of books, on napkins—if only her mother had written in a journal what a story we could have shared. Patsy's desire to become a writer blossomed as a young woman in poetry, dwindled with the survival of life Itself and while raising a child. As an older woman now, the dream and passion of writing continues and grows like the falling of water down a hill. Her eyes see the world so differently than most and her philosophy beckons that difference in all her creative works. Her inspirations have been her family and friends, love, life and living. Patsy has chosen the previous f selections to share, as they are some of her favorites.
