For as long as I can remember, my family was always involved in the horse racing business, so I caught the bug early in life. Now, I have been breeding and racing horses for over 30 years. I have been lucky enough to have some success along the way, and what makes this story so important to me, is that I am also adopted. I have been lucky enough to have incredible, supportive, loving parents that are always there for me.
I grew up in a small farming town in the middle of our state where I would spend my summers at my dad’s potato packing shed, but we would always find time to go and watch his horses race on the weekends. My brother and sister never got the racing bug, but they also were both adopted.
I have always been very competitive and very involved with sports. I had great success in both high school and college with football, wrestling and baseball. I have found that the horses now give me my competitive drive that I still yearn for.
This is my first book, and this story is very important to me for so many reasons. I truly believe that this story will be enjoyed by not just horse lovers, but also by the many people involved or touched by adoption. I hope you like it!
