In 2011, Marcus created Academic Wave, an educational consulting company. This successful launched has resulted in informing parents, empowering teachers, and assisting students including acceptance into colleges and universities such as Harvard. With a distinctive style of communication and presentation, Academic Wave continues to be on the forefront of educational trends and patterns.
In his most recent work, Marcus tackles the concept of being an "underdog" releasing the book entitled, B through Y: The Underdog's Process of Seizing Opportunity, Control, and Respect. Native of Houston, TX., Marcus Johnson 'MJ' is currently attending the University of Texas at Austin pursing a PhD in Education Curriculum and Instruction. He received the Texas New Scholars Fellowship in 2012.
