Lynda Roberts Vaughan is a writer specializing in children's fantasy, mystery, and magic. After attending the Creative Writing Program at UC Davis Extension, she was accepted into the Tamales Bay Workshops for one of her submitted works. Lynda received a Letter of Recommendation from New York Times Bestselling Author Amy Ewing and gained entry into the Creative Writing Honors Program at Oregon State University. Her published works include the poem 'Heart Cries' in "Figments of Fire," an anthology of poets, and "Austin and the Golden Sun Macaw," a children's book co-authored with her daughter, Shaneen Martinez Barmby, an accomplished photographer, illustrator, and artist. With a background in procurement and engineering subcontracts for companies such as Boeing, Lynda holds a degree in Saddlemaking and previously operated a ranch in Washington State, where she raised horses and Australian Cattle Dogs and cared for two pot-bellied pigs, Lester and Lulu. Before returning to California to care for her aging mother with Alzheimer's, she lived off the grid atop a mountain in Idaho. She later met her husband, John, a retired law enforcement officer and Vietnam veteran, and they married in San Francisco. Although she has lived in various parts of the United States, Lynda now resides in Northern California with her husband and their three astute Cardigan Welsh Corgis.
